A VISIT TO NAGARKOT AND LIFE IN KATHMANDU IN TWO DAYS

It was a sunny weather back in Kathmandu. The day started for me as soon as I woke up. Being a Guest I was like a god. People in nepal still regard the Guest as a form of deity. We were staying with our Sister-in-law. Despite the fact that kathmandu is one of the most expensive city in Asia, it was unavoidable to put extra pressure on them. Since my wife is the youngest in her family, her married sis would seriously mind our plans to stay somewhere else (Hotel).
Its been 7 days that I have been away from my day to day activities (When I say this, I mean the activities I perform when home in holidays). I introspected for some time at bed about how to kill the time. The electricity is the majoy concern in nepal from past few months. Though it is a bit better compared to last year when the LOADSHEDDING would be for 16-18 hours a day.
Its funny and ironic when we have aboundance of water resources. Nepal is regarded as the second largest country in water resources. However we never had Quality of enterpreuners, politicians, Adminstrators or even the awarness of masses to utilise such a great resource. This being the top problem our economy & country is facing at the moment. Forget about the Constituent assembly and the constitution. These days we have almost 9-11 hours of LOADSHEDDING, even in the winters!!!! Then I thought i must check the heap of electronic mails dumped in different email accounts and increasing every day. When i checked in for the time-table for that day regarding the LOADSHEDDING, my brother-in-law told me that the power would cease around 10 in the morning. I thought for a second, i still had around 2 hours of time to clear my mail inbox. So I finished my morning activites in hurry and went out to a near by Cyber Cafe. The shop owner was at services from early morning as he also knows if he don't follow the LOADSHEDDING routine, he won't earn his livelihood. Back home in West nepal, My friends rues his decision to start the cyber-cafe bussiness. Any way, I started the daunting task of replying to necessary emails, there were couple of stern mails from my supervisor, which i neglected, as i dont want to evolve my mind to the work field. There were other loads of spam/junk mails which were deleted even without slightest notice about the actual content.
When i went back in the room people were waiting with meals(just to inform the reader, here in nepal the meals are mostly around 10 a.m in morning, afternoon is for Brunch and by 8 in the evening people would be finished with the dinner) for me. We went on with the meals with the tickling jokes on each other, which was fun. Sister-in-law is one of the finnest cook and a true homemaker. She enjoys servimng me and makes sure I leave content from the dinning room, though the dinning place is the middle space between two beds. Getting room in kathmandu is like finding god at a high price. funny isn't it!!!
